This book explores the topics included in the syllabus of Anna University extensively. A reference table on the factors for quality control Charts, numerical examples for each control chart, the questions for short answers, and a few website addresses have been included to obtain and sustain the interest of the student community and the teaching fraternity.
In this second edition, a chapter was added with details on topics such as Quality circle, Zero defects, Just in time, Kanban and Poka Yoke to cater for the expectations of the students as well as teachers. The details on 5S, YY Analysis, Five W`s and two H`s analysis and Brainstorming methodology have been enlarged with examples. Twenty-three case studies have been added in this edition to extent the scope and knowledge of the student community. About the Author: |
Dr. R.S. Naagarazan (b. 1938) B.E. (Hons.), M.Tech., Ph.D., is working as Professor and Director (Academic), Arunai Engineering College, Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. He was earlier the Principal, AEC, and for over three decades, a distinguished faculty, and Professor and Head of the Deptt. of Production Engineering, Annamalai University. He is also the author of the SQC Data Book, New Age International Publishers, 2001. He has presented/published more than 30 research papers in national and international conferences/journals, in the Production Engineering area.
Prof. A.A. Arivalagar (b. 1968) B.E., M.Tech., Gold Medalist in M.Tech. Program, is working as the Professor and Head of the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Arunai Engineering College, Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. He has co-authored a textbook on Engineering Mechanics. He has been teaching Production Engineering subjects for the past ten years. He has acted as Coordinator for the International Seminar on Taguchi Methodologies on Quality conducted during January 30-Februarey 2002.
