About the Author:

Pradip V. Mehta,, a Fellow of the American Society for Quality, is a quality assurance executive in a multinational retail and service organization. The authors one book as well as numerous articles on quality demonstrate his extensive experience in quality management field. He has conducted extensive training, both classroom and on-the-job, for the quality assurance staff of the company he works for. In 1996, he visited NIFT, New Delhi, twice to teach quality and to hold industry training sessions under the United Nations Development Programme.

He received the B. Tech. (Engg.) in 1968 from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, India, and the M.S. degree (1972) from the Lowell Technological Institute, Lowell, Massachusetts, and the M.B.A. degree (1978) in business management from the University of Dallas, Irving, Texas. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer (textile engineering) in Texas. In 1995, he received ISO 9000 Lead Assessor/Auditor certification from RAB and IQA. He is very active in the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
